The Naranja Lakes Community Redevelopment Agency (NLCRA) was established by Miami-Dade County to reduce and eliminate slum and blight and to guide redevelopment within the Naranja Lakes Community Redevelopment Area. The Agency implements the adopted Community Redevelopment Plan and invests in programs and projects designed to stabilize neighborhoods, improve housing conditions, support commercial revitalization, and enhance public infrastructure throughout the district.
The NLCRA works in coordination with community partners, County departments, and local organizations to advance redevelopment goals and improve the quality of life for residents and businesses within the area.
The mission of the Naranja Lakes CRA is to eliminate slum and blight by implementing programs, projects, and public improvements that support safe housing, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, and long-term community enhancement within the redevelopment area.
Since its establishment in 2002, the Naranja Lakes CRA has focused on eliminating blight, strengthening neighborhoods, and supporting economic development. Through infrastructure improvements, business incentives, and community partnerships, the CRA continues to invest in a safer, more vibrant Naranja Lakes.
We invest in redevelopment projects that enhance neighborhood character and improve quality of life for residents in the Naranja Lakes area.
Our programs help local businesses upgrade façades, enhance commercial spaces, and strengthen long-term economic stability.
We support improvements to streetscapes, lighting, sidewalks, and public spaces that make Naranja Lakes safer and more connected.
General Boundaries
The NLCRA area encompasses 5,039.62 acres spanning three main neighborhoods. The central Naranja neighborhood serves as the hub of development and features key amenities such as Naranja Park. To the north lies the Princeton neighborhood, located near the bustling Redland Market Village, while the southernmost area is Leisure City, characterized by an older housing stock. Strategically positioned along S Dixie Highway, a major regional connector, and near Florida’s Turnpike, the NLCRA enjoys excellent accessibility and connectivity.
